Claire's 2nd Birthday Party 'American Clairelines'

Saturday marked the two year anniversary of The Claire.  I've learned a lot from her, and I'd like to think she's learned a thing or two from me too.  The humans celebrated her with a big party, gifts, and yummy treats.  They don't do that for me, so I guess I know where I stand now.  I've been working with her a lot recently and she's getting more and more vocal as the days go by and putting those words into sentences.  She also loves to sing.  She serenades me with "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and "The Itsy Bitsy Spider" on a daily basis.  Even though I wasn't invited, I was able to secure some pictures from her party.

Claire is 12 months old!

Claire is 10 months old!

Sorry people, but I have been busy this month. I have been training my protege. I think she is only a couple of weeks or months, depending on how well the training goes, from being able to walk and open cans of food for me.

Anyway, as promised here are the 10 month pictures I was able to capture of the Claire. Like I said earlier, she's becoming more mobile because of our rigorous training sessions, so she's a little harder to get a good shot of.

The next step in my on-going training of the child is to make sure she makes simple tasks as difficult as possible for the humans. Today's exercise: 8 month pictures. Claire gets two paws up!

Claire is 7 months old!

The Claire turned 7 months old yesterday. It's time we revisit and revise some of the ground rules.


1) I get fed first. I can and will cry louder and longer than you.

2) I was here first. I depend on those people for a variety of things and I don't intend to let you undo the years of training I've done on them.

3) I get fed first.

4) I swear if you wake me up in the middle of the night like I've read "babies" are likely to do, you better tell the humans to feed me.

5) I get fed first.

6) I understand for the first couple of months you won't be any more interactive than a pet turtle. Once you grow out of that you better learn to pet me. Long, even strokes with the grain. Start practicing on the humans before you bring an inferior pet my way.

7) I get fed first.

Let's see....you're in direct violation of ALL 7 rules. How hard is it to follow these? And while we're on the subject, rule 8 - Don't try to eat me!!!! I understand my fur is soft and irresistible, but cut me some slack for meowing out loud!

It's hard to believe that this humanoid has been invading my space for the past 5 months. I have been teaching her a few new tricks while the kitchen staff (aka parents) are 'working'. Claire has begun "creeping" (pushing herself around on her stomach) and sitting up, both of which I can already do, but everyone makes a big deal when she does it.
